Insurance For A Learner To Practice 2-3 Times A Week

Collingwood Learner Driver Insurance

My son is 20 and he is having driving lessons, at the same time I would like to take him out to practice 2/3 times a week. Can you let me know how much it would cost to insure him on a temporary basis for 2/3 times a week? The car in question is a Hyundai Getz CDX automatic which is currently insured with Norwich union on a comprehensive basis.

Robin,

For drivers with just a provisional licence, the options for car insurance are limited. You wouldn't be able to get temporary insurance for him with your current insurer. However, you can buy learner drivers car insurance for him but that has to be at least 4 weeks long. After that period of time, you can renew the cover on a weekly basis. Of course, this then means that you can take him for driving practice whenever you want instead of just two or three times a week. Please have a look at Collingwood Learner Driver Insurance for a quote and more information on the policy itself.
