Registered Keeper Passed Away - Is Named Driver Still Insured?

My father has passed away - he is the registered keeper on his car and my mother is a named driver. Is she still covered?

Karen,

The insurance company with which your mother is insured needs to be informed soon as. I believe that if your mum was a named driver, then your dad must have been the main driver (policyholder). This needs changing now by either making your mum the policyholder or leaving her as a named driver and making someone else the main driver (maybe you?). You will need to send the registration certificate back to DVLA for change of ownership/registered keepet to the vehicle as well.

This is a very hard time for you and your family but these things will need sorting to keep your mother's insurance valid. A few phone calls is what it takes and as long as the necessary authorities have bene informed, then there's nothing to worry about. Please accept my condolence for your loss.
