When a magistrate orders your disqualification removed early, can the DVLA increase your ban term?
Get off your moral high horse dude. The judge passed sentence in accordance and dude or dudette has paid for their mistake. THEY DID NOT KILL ANYONE so I see no point talking about what could have happened. Do you think that what if's are going to solve the bigger issue? If bans are not lifted and people given a second chance to redeem themselves, then what incentive does one have not to re-offend? Forward thinking please....

Full no claims bonus from NRMA in Sydney Australia and a gold Australian Drivers licence
Hi MrsBaggins We've just returned from Aus. It looks like several UK insurers (eg Direct Line, for one) will accept No Claims Bonuses from Aussie insurers, however, they will need a No Claims certificate that states your No Claims history in YEARS (eg "8yrs No Claims") rather than, for example, as a rating or % discount (which is what the Aussie insurers tend to do). I was with AAMI in Australia, and they were happy to comply with this request, and provided me with a certificate by email. Hope this helps! George

Sorry but if you were drink-driving, you only have yourself to blame, and of course the DVLA haven't ignored the court, you say you got 9 months on top of 6 months? That to me is a small amount of time. If a drink-driver had killed a relative would you be seeing a 15 month ban as too much? You could so easily have killed someone, so I reckon you've got off lightly. And why a court would lift a ban is just pathetic beyond words. If it's because you need the car for work, then you should of thought of that before you got into your car and drove while over the limit.

How do I know when my tank is full when I'm filling up?
When I'm filling up my tank at the petrol station, how do I know that my tank is full? I don't want to overfill my car and do not want to fill up three quarters as well. Is there a way to tell when the petrol has reached its maximum limit in the car's tank?

International Student Car Insurance
Hi
I'm an international student from Spain and have been in the UK for 5 months now. I live in Lewisham but go to college in Croydon. I want to drive there instead of taking public transport and was wondering whether the insurance will be too high as I'm on a tight budget?
Thanks.

I wonder if you can help me find a really cheap car insurance quote as a student. I've bought an old car from someone which has cost me around £200 but the quotes I'm getting are well over £700. Is there something that I can do to reduce the premiums?
Thanks.

Double Cab Insurance
To insure a double cab, do you have to take a commercial or private vehicle policy? I need to know this information because commercial premiums are much higher and I don't intend on spending so much on insurance for that car.
Thanks.

I'm looking to get a double cab pick up - what are the choices available to me? I live in the UK and would ideally want something that is going to be relatively cheap to insure as well.
Thanks.

Driving Without MOT and Insurance
I have just been to the garage and the mechanic said that my car did not pass the MOT. I'm very upset as the exhaust pipe needs changing and that's going to cost me some serious money.
I've decided not to renew my car insurance until I've sorted out the MOT. Am I going to be in deep trouble if I get caught?
